Dream

My head felt heavy. I saw the time with one eye closed. The blanket protected me from shoulder to toe preventing cold air coming in contact with my skin. The time piece showed 0602hrs. I knew I had to wake up. If not for anything else for the sake of mother nature. I did and washed my face. My hand went so close to picking my tooth brush, I almost touched it. I heard the sound of raindrops. Suspending the action of brushing, I went to check the rain. As I reached the verandah, the sight simply amazed me. The raindrops were hitting the tar and the residue was making the road shine like never before.

The street dogs were underneath the cars that were parked. Anyone who had a look at its skin could've said, it was drenched in the rain. It looked like the bread crumb in the tomato soup, which has lost its crispy-ness. The trees wore a never before, never again look... It was such a nice feeling. I was feeling so happy to have woken up so early. After such a long time, I am awake at 0600 and this scene awaited me. It was like a dream. I folded my arms only to realize I was feeling cold.

Deciding I should wear my jacket, I headed to my room. Mentally I made a note to make coffee once I wore my jacket. As I entered my room, the Jacket was not to be seen. I had a glance at my bed which only minutes ago, I had left. It caught my attention. Actually, not just my attention, but my whole self. My beloved blanket seemed to say "darling, hop in... what are you waiting for"... The next thing I knew was the time, for when I opened my eye to see the time, it showed 0845hrs...

... and thence, i sacrificed my dream... for sleep...
