Usually, from what I have seen, people would buy a helmet in the first or second week of them buying a two wheeler. (I wish I had visited this site before buying a helmet) Urvashi Theatre Road is the place where 80% of the people in bangalore head to. There are like million shops there. okay, exaggeration. There are about hundred shops there. One prominent one is MEHTA ENTERPRISES or something to that effect, but surely MEHTA something. Boy! Customers are treated like shit here. no, seriously. I had been there today and he was not ready to wait till the customer makes a decision. His impatience to convert his helmets into cash prevented him from doing so. What followed was a duel, leading to loss in business for Mr. Mehta.
Is it only in bangalore that its a seller's market? O Lord, when will they realize? For all such sellers there are three golden rules on which the world thrives on...
Rule 1: Customer is the king
Rule 2: Customer is the king
Rule 3: Customer is the king

I know exactly what you mean. I remember two instances when I encountered terrible customer service:
(1) When I went to a service center to have my scooter repaired, the man behind the counter ignored me, proceeded to make a ball out of a scrap of paper that was lying on his desk and fling it at his colleague, to the latter's total amusement!!
(2) There was this showroom of dresses and when I went up to the saleslady, she displayed her wares with the enthusiasm of a person who had taken poison and was bound to drop dead on the materials any second.
I think the BEST thing to do in such situations is to tell them. I say "Sir, I am a customer here - how about some service? I haven't got all day". In MOST cases, it's very effective! Try it!
Hey, i just bought a helmet myself! And yes, you're right, they treat people like crap. Well, when there are loads are customers I guess they find it ok if they lose a few customers. :-))
I can completely understand what u must've gone through....and when this happens to me,i think i would just leave the shop asking him to mend his ways..there can't be a worser insult to the shopkeeper
