BIAL is good for Bangalore

Dear Bangalore,

How long would you have liked a bus stand double up as an airport? (no, figuratively) Airports also need to grow up and be on its own. The decade you are headed into needs you to drop your conservative image and let airports and bus stands be on its own. If not anything else, this will only do you a lot of good and you can sleep more peacefully.

See, I am writing this letter from the airport, using the free wi-fi service these nice people are offering. You might not have visited, but I would like to bring to your notice about the last time I blogged about the free wireless internet at airports, which could be found whence you click here. This is just one of the many good things this airport has to offer.

You may ask what else. To begin with, besides being an airport, BIAL also offers itself as a huge shopping mall. The vastness makes the number of people seem so small and suddenly I find a lot of corners to sit and read or work.

And then, there is no baggage screening as soon as you enter. The approach, which you have spoken so much about is smooth. From my house in Rajajinagar, I took exactly 60 minutes to reach here. Yes, thats the same time I used to take the old airport.

The visual control is so efficient that you needn't ask anyone a question about where what is located. I'm sure you'll remember how cars and people alike used to hustle for space just in front of the airport. Once you visit here, I promise you, you'll want to forget that.

Anyway, I hope you'll visit here soon and see the development (against the entertainment you are used to) by yourself.

I remain yours,
Sleepyface

Good post.I still havnt seen the airport, but its sounds and smells incredible from the reports iam hearing.

My only concern could be the growing prices and the tax and probably the transport time.I used to take 2 hours door-to-door from Bangalore to Kerala, but now taking a domestic flight wont serve my purpose of having evening tea at Marathahalli and a sadhya at Cochin 90 minutes later.

Go BIAL!

@Oneiro, the next time you clock your door to door time, do let me know. I'm eager to know how much it has improved and what impact it has on your actions!

@BIAL, thanks for visiting my blog. The consumer experience is fascinating. The technical part hasn't changed much (yet). It would be of immense help if the second runway comes up. I mean, think of all the fuel that is saved, which is otherwise used to hover around in the skies before landing

@ Vindo: Bangalore is ready to welcome you, my dear friend. Please set your foot here!

Type in 'bangalore sewers' on the YOUTUBE search bar. Check out the video and the others on the same page. This is disgusting. With all the money India has available, there is really no excuse. THIS IS PURE FOURTH WORLD GARBAGE WITH INDIA BEING THE ONLY MEMBER!.
