Thus Spake, Hobbes

Why waste time learning when ignorance is instantaneous?
~Hobbes,
So, can we make learning instantaneous? a rapid knowledge transfer process? Just like the way they do it in the movie Matrix? yeah?

It would be such a nice thing. Engineering would be for four minutes with a two minute break. and come to think of it, i needn't use so many words to explain you this. may be a gesture from my side (wink, if you're a girl) is enough to make you understand what I'm trying to say. wow. nobody would need to use alphabets or the keyboard! My my. This is too much for me to handle right now .

No matter what, engineering wud be for 4 yrs. yaakeyandrey, if it wud b the matrix type instant knowledge, ppl wud inevitably apply it in an infinite number of ways hence making the world a very complex technical arena which wud require more n more engineers. but as the ratio of enggrs 2 the total populn wud remain almost the same, the existing engnrs then wud have to bear the entire load, which implies that instead of studing 60 subjs in 4 yrs, enggrs wud study 600,000,000 subjects in 4 yrs!

coming to ur gesture part, if the gal culd understand what u hav to say, on similar lines u culd also assume that she wud experience all the othr things that u wud want to do aftr conveying ur mesg by a wink! the worst part wud b that she wud experience all that 'exciting stuff' in jus a pico-second( n there is no guarantee that u wud also experience all that stuff!!), so i dont think u wud appreciate that, wud u??

hm.. interesting.

she would only understand what i want to say. the process here is acquiring knowledge only and not acquiring experiences. how can she experience "all the other things" that i want to do?

i'm not saying experience should be instantaneous, am i?

correct maga, i agree wid u n i admit taht it ws my mistake that i mistook acquiring knowledge for acquiring experiences :(

That was "my" favourite calvin and hobbes line.....

Hey guess what imagine this Calvin tries to make what u hv said in ur blog real. He starts transforming his transmorgifier to a machine that can make acquiring knowledge or simply said learning easy. Then calvin will get boring. He will not have all the expressions he has now. No never. I wud never want a machine like that even if I had to study engineering for 40 years. For what is life without calvins imagination?
